On the Average Case Behavior of the Multidimensional Assignment Problem∗
The multidimensional assignment problem (MAP) is a combinatorial problem where elements of a variable number of sets must be matched, in order to find a minimum cost solution. The MAP has applications in a large number of areas, and is known to be NP-hard. We survey some of the recent work being done in the determination of the asymptotic value of optimal solutions to the MAP, when costs are dr...
متن کاملa framework for identifying and prioritizing factors affecting customers’ online shopping behavior in iran
the purpose of this study is identifying effective factors which make customers shop online in iran and investigating the importance of discovered factors in online customers’ decision. in the identifying phase, to discover the factors affecting online shopping behavior of customers in iran, the derived reference model summarizing antecedents of online shopping proposed by change et al. was us...
15 صفحه اولA multidimensional maximum bisection problem
This work introduces a multidimensional generalization of the maximum bisection problem. A mixed integer linear programming formulation is proposed with the proof of its correctness. The numerical tests, made on the randomly generated graphs, indicates that the multidimensional generalization is more difficult to solve than the original problem.
متن کاملMultidimensional Fechnerian Scaling: Probability-Distance Hypothesis
This research has been supported by NSF Grant SES-0001925. I am indebted to Hans Colonius for many helpful discussions and for critically reading the earlier version of this paper. I am grateful to Robin Thomas, Jean-Claude Falmagne, and three anonymous reviewers for helpful suggestions. In particular, Falmagne and one reviewer pointed out flaws in my initial treatment of the relationship betwe...
متن کاملA Note on a Multidimensional Searching Problem
Search involves deciding whether or ~_gt a given object is in a collection of objects. When repeated searches have to be made on the same collection, it is desirable to organize the collection into a structure that facilitates efkient searching. The cost !of this organ~g or prepro~~ng can be assumed to be insignificant if a large number of searches are to be performed. The binary searching meth...
